Steve Stratton

Biography

Steve Stratton brings a career spanning presidential communications, protective service, U.S. Army Special Forces, defense contracting, and technology storytelling to the Mongol Moon universe. He began at the White House Communications Agency, supporting Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, Vice Presidents Nelson Rockefeller and Walter Mondale, and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. He later joined the U.S. Secret Service before moving into the commercial sector. Stratton earned his Green Beret and deployed with 20th Special Forces on counter-drug and training missions in the SOUTHCOM region, then worked as a defense contractor supporting USCENTCOM, USSOCOM, and intelligence agencies. He is also the creator of the Shadow Tier series. In Mongol Moon, his story Gone Native establishes the Wyoming thread, and Dances with Arrows carries Lance Bear Wolf, Elle Parker, and that resistance front into a full standalone novel centered on occupied Wyoming, Cheyenne, and the fight across the Rockies. Away from writing, Stratton is an outdoorsman whose interests include mountain biking, trout fishing, and hunting in Colorado.
